Production is the process by which finished goods are produced. This is an organized process of manufacturing or producing goods though the use of resources and methods. Production consists of services of operations that transform materials from a given form to a desire form.
In a small unsophisticated factory such as an outside contractor the owner and the production manager is responsible for all activities within the factory, which includes:
1) Output of the factory
2) Garment quality
3) Working methods and technology
4) Materials and trim purchasing.
5) Labor recruitment and training.
This type of organization is usually very effective when the product range is kept small and the products themselves are relatively simple apart from directing the production activities, the management is involved in the day-to-day administrative work required to keep the factory running, overheads house to be kept to the absolute minimum and specialized series are provided by external agencies such as sewing machine mechanizes, general maintenance series and accountants.
As production becomes more complete knowledge necessary for the detailed management of a large production department is beyond the ability of one person consequently specialist functions are created to provide the depth of knowledge required and to marrow the fields of responsibility.
In a large, more sophisticated merriment the production department has their main groups of functions manufacturing, service and control.
